This gigantic waterfall is formed by melting snow. It is a temporary waterfall and it flows only in early summer when there still a lot of snow in the mountains and it is a particularly hot day. Local people told me that they have not seen this fall so active in more than 30 years! Enjoy this seen, it is unique.
This shot is taken from HW 2 approximately 2 miles away at 3pm when outside temperature was 98F or 36C.
The road is passing through a cattle ranch. It is not often to see such a nice sunny view in place with 180 inches of rain every year. But, here it is, sunny rain forest!
This is what remains from what was probably the largest waterfall that ever existed on planet Earth. It was twice hight than Niagra Falls and several times wider. However it did not even look like a waterfall then because it was under 300 feet of water rushing with speed up to 65 miles/hour. Water mass flowing through these falls was responsible for outlandish landscapes of Eastern Washington, Western Idaho and parts of Oregon.
Little white dots in left top corner is Coulee City.
